Food as Medicine: Using diet and lifestyle to reclaim your health
Americans are constantly bombarded with information and recommendations for healthy eating, yet we suffer from higher rates of obesity and chronic disease than ever before. How does one sort out the quackery from fact, and what are we supposed to do when even the experts’ facts contradict each other?
This 6-hour class, designed for the general public and health professionals, answers these questions with concrete information about the impact of diet and lifestyle on the development and progression of chronic disease.
We will discuss basic food science and nutrition, special diets, menu planning, whole food, and lifestyle factors such as stress, relationships and exercise. Come learn how to reclaim your health by incorporating small lifestyle changes and using food as medicine.
